The center winding method is ideal for plastic films or composite materials, thick plates, non-woven fabrics, and paper that are sensitive to clamping force, as well as materials that are sensitive to tension or pressure during rewinding. However, the weight of the finished coils, the strength of the spool or core, and the maximum diameter of the film coils are still limited by the torque of the driving motor. A larger winding diameter requires a larger paper core to accommodate a larger spool, but it also requires a more powerful actuator, which has higher demands on overall power and installation space. Generally speaking, it is difficult for center winding slitting machines to avoid the impact of static adhesion on the air layer, making them suitable for low-speed, small-diameter winding. During the winding process, as the diameter increases, the tension also increases, which can easily cause wrinkling near the paper core. At this point, it is necessary to gradually reduce the tension based on the taper calculation; the tension deviation can be detected by a floating roller, and the signal is sent to the PLC. The PLC will feed back the calculated tension to the variable frequency motor, driving the central shaft to maintain a constant tension of the film. Of course, a magnetic powder brake can also be used to achieve constant tension by controlling the magnetic force on the winding device.
