Previously, the speed of the magnetic powder clutch in slitting machines could not be high because high-speed friction of the magnetic powder during operation could generate high temperatures, shortening its lifespan, and in severe cases, causing it to jam, hindering machine operation and leading to serious production consequences. This severely affected production efficiency.
The traditional control scheme for slitting machines uses a large motor to drive the winding shaft, with a magnetic powder clutch added to the winding. By adjusting the current of the magnetic powder clutch, the resistance it generates can control the tension on the material's surface. The magnetic powder clutch brake is a special automatic actuator that transmits torque through magnetic powder filled in the working gap. Changing the excitation current can alter the magnetic state of the magnetic powder, thereby adjusting the transmitted torque. It can achieve stepless speed regulation from zero to synchronous speed, suitable for high-speed segment micro-adjustment and small to medium power speed regulation systems. It is also used in unwinding or rewinding tension control systems, adjusting torque by regulating current to ensure constant tension during winding.
The main feature of this cutting machine is the use of a magnetic powder clutch as a resistance device, with the system controlling the output of direct current voltage to control the resistance generated by the magnetic powder clutch. The main advantage is that it is a passive device that can control lower tension.
Disadvantages: The speed cannot be high; high-speed operation can easily cause high-speed friction of the magnetic powder, generating high temperatures, leading to heating of the magnetic powder clutch and shortening its lifespan.
