Techniques for Preventing Edge Misalignment During Winding of Film Slitting Machines

We know that when the tension at the center of the slitting machine is too high or the pressure of the pressure roller is too great, creases or folds will appear on the surface of the film during winding, affecting the quality of the finished roll. Conversely, if the pressure/tension is reduced, the winding will be too loose, which can easily cause string issues. Especially for some large roll films, due to uneven thickness at both ends, the pressure applied at both ends of the same roll is unbalanced. Engineers at Lipu will use the best tension and pressure to eliminate the uneven end face caused by string edges while ensuring the hardness of the film roll, based on different types and specifications of the film. Below are some tips for reference. First, observe whether there is any shaking on both sides when the roller is rotating, which may be caused by bearing installation issues, and check for any gaps or unevenness. When the roller swings, the pressure at both ends of the film surface changes instantaneously, and the end with lower pressure is more prone to stringing. Additionally, check whether the transmission components are operating well, whether the belt has jumping teeth or slipping phenomena, and whether the motor bearings rotate smoothly. Also, ensure that the relative curve of tension, speed, and diameter does not have any abrupt changes, generally identifying issues through the timing of stringing and making corresponding fine adjustments.
