The winding tension control methods for slitting machines include constant torque tension control, constant tension control, and taper tension control. Under constant winding torque, the tension gradually decreases as the diameter of the film roll increases, which can easily cause the film roll to loosen. Additionally, as the winding diameter increases, the weight becomes heavier, and small torque may struggle to drive the film coil, making it unsuitable for winding larger diameter materials under constant torque conditions. Constant tension ensures that the tension remains unchanged during the winding process, suitable for small diameter winding; however, the drawback is that if the tension is too low, it can cause eccentricity due to being wound too loosely, while too high tension can damage the paper core. Taper tension control is more flexible, allowing for the setting of taper coefficients, diameters, initial torque, and other parameters based on different materials, enabling the tension to gradually decrease within a certain range to prevent the inner layers from winding too tightly and causing film slippage. Furthermore, the taper value can be set to 0 for constant tension control. Different slitting machine manufacturers have different algorithms for controlling tension taper, and improper taper settings can easily lead to excessive tightness of the core, causing unnecessary waste in production. The window frame machine requires winding larger diameter and heavier film rolls, and it is essential to ensure sufficient torque. When setting the taper, factors such as film thickness, ductility, stability, and speed must be considered comprehensively. A taper coefficient that is too large can make the hard outer layer near the core too loose, and excessive tension variation can cause the film layers to slip, resulting in roller deviation. Conversely, a taper coefficient that is too small can make the film too tight, leading to internal stress accumulation and the formation of a chrysanthemum line, affecting product quality. Through practice, the output effects of various tapers have been analyzed and summarized, and different tension taper control methods have been developed based on the characteristics of different materials to meet the process requirements of various film manufacturers.
