The main reasons for creasing on film rolls are:

1.Damage to the winding pressure roller, such as scratches, with longitudinal scratches causing more significant creasing on the film roll;

2.Contamination of the winding pressure roller leading to an uneven surface, such as adhesive tape, impurities, etc., can also cause creasing on the film roll, requiring cleaning of the pressure roller.

Creasing not only affects the use of the product but also impacts the product's appearance, causing a reduction in the corona value of the film and affecting its processing performance.

Scratches on the Film Slitting Machine

Scratches are a quality issue affecting the appearance of the film, directly impacting the quality appearance of deep-processed products. Therefore, they are considered unacceptable quality defects in film quality control standards. If scratches are found during the slitting process, the causes must be carefully examined and quickly eliminated. Additionally, since scratches on the film surface are irreversible quality issues, operation with known defects is not allowed to prevent the recurrence of problems.

Whether there are scratches after slitting can be determined by comparing the film surface conditions before and after slitting. There are various reasons for scratches on the film surface during slitting, and analysis should be conducted based on the appearance of the scratches. For example, short linear scratches are generally caused by the speed ratio differences of the various drive rollers exceeding the process requirements, which need careful inspection and adjustment. If continuous scratches appear on the film surface, it is necessary to check whether the film's path on the slitting machine has encountered fixed objects or if any rollers have adhered small sand particles or other dirt that could scratch the film surface.
